My Journey Through Life

Hello guys ♥

First of all I want to wish you all a merry christmas and a lovely and aamaaazing new year! I hope you all have the possibility to share these days with your families and your loved ones.

I don't know about you, but I'm looking for weeks for nice haistyles I want to try out on the holidays. So in this post I want to share some hairstyles I found on the internet and share some videos with you if you want to try out some.

I still don't know what I'm going to do with my hair, but I think I might opt for a half up do, since I always wear my hair open but my hair also drives me crazy 😅 If I'll find some velvet ribbon, I might try out wearing my hair up with it since it's a trend right now (just have a look on all influencer with their Chanel ribbons all over instagram). But I'm also so in love with a flower or bow hair do... At least I have 5 days to choose 5 different hair styles.

But know I talked enough, have a look on the pictures I liked the most:

Long Bob hairstyles

Half Up Dos

Ponytails and Buns

Here you have some tutorials from pinterest:

and here three youtube videos. The first two are tutorials, the third one shows 7 hairstyles with tutorial.

that's it from me for now, I hope you like that post. I don't know if I'll be able to post something next week, but in case I don't I wish you a wonderfull new years eve and a good start into 2018! 🎉🍹💗

Hey guys!

I'm finally back with a new trend check! I'm sorry it took me so long, have been a bit busy (and mostly lazy 😶) but here we are with the newest trend check about wine red or red ankle booties in general. A few weeks ago I bought some wine red ones myself, that's why I'm soooo into this trend and definitely had to do a post about it. It's not that red ankle booties can be found in nearly every store, they're also all over magazines and instagram.

Here you can have a look on some inspirational outfits I found:

here you have some outfits for winter or coulder autumn days. As you can see in the second outfits, it is possible to combine red and green!

Here you have some styles with jeans for more casual days and spring & summer

Ankle botties can also be combined to skirts, dresses & culottes and as you can see, it looks super chic when combining something in the same red with your booties

Gigi Hadid, Taylor Swift and Jessica Alba

And like always, here are three sets I put together with affordable outfits
(Actually, these are similar outfits to the ones I wore myself with my wine red booties)

Coat: With Chic ($36)
Sweater: H&M ($20)
Skirt: River Island ($18)
Tights: Saks Fifth Avenue ($40)
Booties: Gamiss ($21)
Necklace: Amazon ($15)
Bag: Make Me Chic ($20)
Earrings: Berricle ($29)

Cardigan: GAP ($50, sso, similar here: SheIn)
Top: Carven (sso, similar here ASOS)
Jeans: Pieces ($29)
Booties: Zulily ($24 sso similar here: ASOS)
Earrings: Yoox ($41)

Sweater: Topshop ($38)
Blouse: Ifchic ($50)
Jeans: Objectci ($40)
Booties: Charlotte Russe ($24)
Necklace: Kohls ($12)
Earrings: Macys ($5)
Watch: Kohls ($15)

So this was the Trend Check! Let me know of you liked it!

The next post will be travel related but I still don't know which one to talk about... Let me know in the comments if you prefer Paris, Berlin or Vienna!

Goodbye England's rose
May you ever grow in our hearts
You were the grace that placed itself
Where lives were torn apart
You called out to our country
And you whispered to those in pain
Now you belong to heaven
And the stars spell out your name

Hello Guys!

After weeks of absence I finally found some time to get back here and write a post. I actually wanted to do a travel post again, but since it's the 20th anniversary of Lady Di's fatal accident, I decided to write about her.

To me as to many other people in the world, Diana was a role model. Not only did she become princess, a dream of every girl, but she also stood in for her thoughts (Quote of her: I like to be a free spirit. Some don't like that, but that's the way I am) and didn't follow the tight script of the Royal Family. Unfortunately, her fairy tale didn't last long as everybody knows (duuuh how could Charles dump her for Camilla??). But she didn't let this bring her down and found love again, but once again the pressure from the media was high, leading to her and her lover's Dodi Al-Fayed tragic accident on the August 31, 1997.

Even after having this harsh life, and even a hard childhood (divorce of her parents and allegedly domestic abuse of her father to her mother), she was always nice and caring for others. You can see this in interviews of hers and old videos of her charity and overall appearances, but also in the way William and Harry talk about her.

But she wasn't only known for her loving nature, but she was also a style icon in the 20th century. Even nowadays there are people dressing themselves like her or at least sticking to her style (just look at Princess Kate!). Here you have a some of her best looks:

It's impressive how a public figure like her, untouchable on the one side, touched so many people from all over the world. I don't know anybody who says that they don't like Lady Diana. Her authenticity made her approachable and likeable. Her funeral is until now (according to my research) the most viewed event on the tv with nearly 3 billion people watching it.

"Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you. " - Lady Diana

It's difficult to find words to finish this post, since it's a very sad issue to talk about... But I think it's important to learn from Lady Di not only from her character and actions, but also from what the media did to her. She became anorexic and depressed and it even lead to her death. It should make us think about how we treat one another and public figures, how much pressure we put on them and how little privacy they have.

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset
When the rain set in
And your footsteps will always fall here
Along England's greenest hills
Your candles burned out long before
Your legend ever will

Se um dia alguém perguntar por mim
Diz que vivi para te amar
Antes de ti, só existi
Cansado e sem nada para dar

Hello Guys!

How are you all? I'm sorry I didn't post anything the last weeks, but university and my boyfriend (yeesssss I finally got my crush after two years!!) are keeping me pretty busy..
But here I am to talk a bit about the Eurovision Song Contest from yesterday.

First of all: PORTUGAL WON!! ♥ I felt so proud when I read that Salvador Sobral really did it, you can't imagine. He's song is just so emotional and beautiful and heart-breaking .... I knoooow there are a lot of people who don't like the song, and tbh the first three times I heard it I found in terrible... But the more I listened to it, and the more I got to know Salvador (who really deserves the Hashtag #Salvadorable), the more I got to love the song. Not only are the lyrics so deep, but the fact that Luisa, his sister, wrote it for him and that he is just so genuine and lovely and interested in humanity makes Salvador and his music amazing. Listen to the lovely song here:

Besides Portugal I really liked the songs from Sweden (that high nooooteeee), from Moldova (Epic Sax Guy Fangirl since 2010), Cyprus, Greece and Australia (there were some more like France and Denmark which were also good).

Did you watch the Eurovision Song Contest? Who was your favourite? Leave a comment and tell me :) - Sara xx

Hello! Here we are with Day 5 of our Serena van der Woodsen Dress For Less Week.
This outfit is very high fashion (of course since this episode takes part in the fashion city Paris)
It was very dificult to find a similar blazer and the shoes were impossible to be found for an affordable price. So unfortunately, the shoes aren't perfect, but they were the best I could found.
I hope you like it anyways!

Top: Sans Soucis Store ($12)
Blazer: Amazon ($30)
Pants: Very ($35)

Hello Guys!

Here I am again with a nearly forgotten theme of this blog: the 7 days Dress For Less!
This time we're having a look on Serena van der Woodsen from Gossip Girl. I'm still into that show (and I'm actually rewatching it for the third time right now). I do like the clothes Serena wears, but sometimes they are a bit short or show a lot of cleavage which I personally don't like on myself.

But now, let's start with the Dress For Less Day 1!

Top: Dorothy Perkins ($26)
Vest: New Look ($44)
Skirt: Boohoo ($14)
Pumps: Rebelle ($43)
Bag: River Island ($48)
Necklace: Belk ($17)

Here we are again for the last post of my trip to Rome!

On our last full day in Rome we went to the Vatican City. We took a train from Trastevere to the Vatican City and went through the lovely streets to Piazza San Pietro. There, we got in line for the Vatican Museum, which at 10 am was already huugee. Fortunately a women started talking to us offering a guided tour with line skipping for I think 30€ per person. We weren't sure if you should do it or not, but luckily we accepted and went to their office. We had to wait there for the german tour to start, and then we finally were able to skip the line and enter the museum.

After entering the Vatican Museum, you practically immediately go into the Cortile della Pigna. Its a beautiful garden which is named after the huge bronze pine cone. In the mittle of the garden is a golden globe, which was gifted to Pope John Paul II in 1990.

After being in the garden, we continued our guided tour inside the museum. I'm still overpowered over the paintings, statues and the architecture itself. I'm really into art, so the museum was like heaven for me. There were so many incredible painting with so many details, it's hard to describe.

After leaving the Vatican Museum, we stepped into the aaamaaazing Sistine Chapel. I really really recommend visiting the chapel, even if it's a bit pricey. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of it since you're not allowed to take photos in there. Of course all churches have great paintings, but the one in the Sistine Chapel is unbelievable, especially the paintings on the ceiling.

While we were in the museum and in the chapel, it had started to rain - a lot. From the Sistine Chapel to the Basilica of St. Peter's you have to go downstairs. Since it was raining really bad, these stairs were pretty slick. My friend fell down, and since she was afraid of her reflex camera, she protected the camera and landed on her elbow. Just minutes later we realized, that she was full of blood but we didn't speak any italian. Fortunately, our guide was still next to us, so that the talked to the guards who took us to a seperated place in the basilica. A few minutes later, a doctor arrived and had a look on the elbow of my friend. She had a deep hole in her skin so that they called an ambulance who took her with another friend to the hospital.

After that incident, the three of us who were left were so exhausted and sluggish, that we just took a few photos inside of the Basilica of San Peter's and left shortly after. I actually wanted to go up to the Dome, but since there was a storm with lightnings my friends were afraid to go up.

inside the Basilica di San Pietro

So we went out into the rain, and ran under the colonnades of the San Peter's Square, getting totally wet and - finally enough - when we got out of the Vatican City it stopped raining.
We got ourselves traditional italian panini and went to the Castel Sant' Angelo.
There we took some photos of the bridge and the impressive castle, but decided we were really tired and went to a lovely café nearby.
We actually wanted to go shopping on this day, but we were so tired, that we did stroll torugh Via del Corso, but didn't enter any shop.

Later on, we met our friends in front of the Piazza Venezia, went home for a refreshing shower and had dinner in the restaurant of the night before. It was a really lovely ending of our trip to Rome, which I will never forget.

On Saturday, we left pretty soon, because we had to get the bus to get to Rome Ciampino. Fortunately we left so soon, since we needed nearly 3 (!!!!) hours to get to the airport because there was so much traffic. But we had fun during the ride, since a really funny guy started talking to us and entertained us.

That was our trip to Rome, I hope you enjoyed the posts and maybe I was able to pitch you to this lovely and beautiful city.
See you next time beautiful people! - Sara xx

Buongiorno Guys!

Here we are with Day 2 of my Rome Adventure 😁

After having Breakfast, we took the tram to the Piazza Venezia, from where we walked to the Pantheon through lovely little streets.

The Pantheon is truly impressive. I mean can you believe that it was built in 114 AD? I often forget how old these building are... There were lots of people again, so we didn't stay there for a long time. It's definitely worth a visit, but in my opinion it's just a walk by station since there isn't a lot to see in the inside. Remember that it's a church and that you have to cover your shoulders and knees! Tip #3: Take a scarf with you, even if it has more than 20°C outside - You can just throw it over so that you can enter the churches :)

Piazza della Rotonda

After being in the Pantheon, we went to the popular Piazza Navona, where I could have stayed for a longer time to be honest. I really enjoy watching street artists by their work, being it singing, drawing, etc

Piazza Navona

Piazza Navona

My friend - who was kind of our guide all the days we stayed in Rome- told us that we'd have an amazing view over Rome from another of the seven hills - the Aventine Hill. So we walked from the Piazza Navona along the river Tiber to the Orange Gardens. On our way there, we stopped by the Tiber Island, the only island in the Tiber River. It's so calm there; I can totally understand why there were some people sleeping and reading on the south-east end of the island.

Tiber Island

The way up to the Orange Garden was really exhausting, but worth it. The Garden itself is soooo beautiful (there was even a wedding shooting 😍), but the view over Rome is so amazing! So tip #4 go up the Aventine Hill and visit the Orange Garden!

Just a few steps from the Orange Garden is the Church of St. Mary of the Priory. This church or better it's keyhole is known all over the world because when you're watching through it, you can see the dome of the St. Peter's Basilica.

Il Buco Di Roma - View from the "Holy Keyhole" of Santa Maria del Priorato

It was about 4 o' clock in the afternoon when we decided that we were already going home, so that we could shower and go out for dinner. We went to a lovely restaurant in Trastevere and enjoyed Pizza and Spaghetti for a totally reasonable price! After eating, we strolled through the streets of Trastevere and went to a bar I think next to the Piazza della Scana and than to one next to the Piazza Trilussa.

Pizza & Spaghetti in Trastevere

And here's our route from Day 2:

So, that was day 2! Day 3 and the most emotional, funny, exhausting and stressful day is following in a few days. So you there and till then, leave a comment!
